El Callejón Hotel Boutique

A small, boutique hotel located in Central Oaxaca was a ground-up project that included interior design. The furniture, artwork, and many other items throughout the hotel showcase local artisan work using our designs. Photos of the hotel are courtesy of others.

My work on this project consisted of the selection of purchased furniture and their placement, the inspiration designs for the proposed artesian creations, and collaboration with furniture designers to create the locally made furniture. This site also required an entry compliance with local historical guidelines. I created the initial design boards that were submitted for approval.

  • Clay lights can be found hanging from lattices throughout the exterior spaces of the hotel. These originated from my proposed design of using clay bottles, which can be seen from an early inspirational board above. We then collaborated with a local potters to create the designs we see today.
