BCP Generators
Year 2020-2025
Location Various, CA
BCP was the installation of tap boxes and supporting electrical infrastructure intended to connect to mobile generators, owned by the client, for rolling blackouts across many of their facilities in the Bay Area. The size of the infrastructure and tap boxes were selected based off building usage. The project started with approximately 40 sites in the Basis of Design and schematic design phase, where I was a Designer collaborating with a Design Team and a Lead Architect. I was in charge of modelling the generators, tap boxes, and establishing base plans for each location. I also wrote the Basis of Design for each building.
After the Basis of Design, I became the Project Manager, sometimes working with the design team to design and create permit drawings for each location. The quantity of sites declined after the Basis of Design, resulting in 23 total sites permitted and constructed. Some of my responsibilities as a Project Manager included managing the final design and placement, meetings, coordination with engineers and clients, permitting, and construction administration. I also completed the design development drawings for most sites as the sole Designer.
